What types of hotels does St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community Use?
We select quality 4-Star Hotels for our accommodation. We at times encourage our pilgrims to use religious accommodation facilities mostly in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and South Africa.
Do you offer Land Packages only?
We offer Flight and Land packages. We use experienced drivers for land transport and sites rides.
Can I request a custom itinerary with St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community to aid my Visas?
To maintain quality of our pilgrimages, we do not customize itineraries for individual travelers. Everyone in the group follows the same standard itinerary.
Are all trips included?
Yes, all customary trips are included. This covers trips for you pilgrimage leader, drivers and local guides, hotels and restaurant staff. Our goal is to ensure a seamless experience without any unexpected expenses.
Is St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage a Licensed & Insured?
YES, we are dully registered in Uganda. We are also an active Pilgrimage and Travel agent with a professional liability insurance cover.
What’s included in the Guided Pilgrimage Pricing and Quotations?
St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community strives to be the most transparent, fairly priced and highly-quality Catholic Pilgrimage Partner. We focus on a few itineraries and make them the best can possibly be. The following is included in the pilgrimage quotations;
Inter-tripe travels: By private motor vehicles, and any necessary transfers. There is no refund for missed or unused transfers.
Guided Pilgrimage: According to transportation as detailed in your personal itinerary.
Tips and gratuities
All tips to guides and drivers are included in the quotation so there’s no need for pilgrims to stretch their budgets.
Documents?
All Pilgrims to Uganda require valid passports for at least 6 months after the return date. A passport card will NOT be accepted as an alternative to a passport and will result into denial of access to airlines and entry by authorities. It is incumbent on all pilgrims to pay for their immunization, Passport and Visa and affidavits.
Conduct Expected
Each pilgrim is expected to adhere to all behavior guidelines established by the pilgrimage captain. Any failure to respond to the guidance of the pilgrimage captain/guide can result in the immediate return home of the offending participant at their sole expense, and no refunds will-be available for any portion of the trip. St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community retains the right to cancel a participant’s reservation prior to the pilgrimage’s start due to any inappropriate, disrespectful or abusive conduct towards our staff. No refunds will be granted in such scenarios.
Video/Photographic Likeness
Any photographic, film, video likeness or audio recordings of participants while on a pilgrimage may be published by St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community in future marketing campaigns and on the St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community website without any notification or compensation to the participant
Age Disclaimer
All pilgrims joining our pilgrimages must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration. For countries like Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi minors must be accompanied by their parents.
Which airports are included in your packages?
You can depart from all airports around the world when joining St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community, and these are included in our package price. For a comprehensive air itinerary you can send in booking with us.
Can I join if I am not a catholic?
Yes of course! While our program is primarily geared towards the catholic faithful, all are welcome to participate and to encounter a unique spiritual experience found on our pilgrimage. There is no obligation to attend Mass and we promote ecumenism by doing so.
Will there be a pilgrimage leader with us?
Yes, all or pilgrimages are accompanied by a dedicated leader who ensures seamless and enjoyable travel experience. Some of our itineraries feature the pilgrimage leader as your primary guide, while in others; we include local guides to provide specialized expertise in specific areas, enhancing the overall experience. This approach ensures that you receive expert guidance and support throughout your journey with us.
How do I meet up with my Pilgrimage Community?
St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community is comprised of different communities from various parts of Uganda mostly in catholic Dioceses. You will meet everyone in your pilgrimage community on the first day of sightseeing
How do I register and pay for a Pilgrimage?

If you are travelling in a group on the Pilgrimage, we highly recommend registering each couple or solo travelers under separate account with a different email address as to make it easier for you to track and make payments.
Bank transfers are highly recommended.
What happens after I complete my registration and pay my deposit?
We will Email a pilgrimage confirmation document to each individual to sign electronically. This will provide details of pilgrimage information you provided us at registration. You will need to confirm your booking in 30 days from the date of registration.
Hotel/Hostel accommodations
Participants are registered and priced at double occupancy by default, unless otherwise noticed on their registration form. Single rooms are subjected to availability and on additional cost.
Pilgrims should be aware that hotel room sizes, standards and facilities can vary regionally and are often different from standards in our various destinations. This can include differences in bed sizes and rooms, bathroom amenities. We also offer accommodations in families mostly on students’ exchange programs and Clergy on vacation by accommodating them in various religious communities.
While we exercise due diligence in the selection of our partners, hotel and other accommodations, profiles are based on information provided to us by the supplier. This includes images and descriptions of the properties and rooms. Additionally, Participants should be aware that star ratings or similar systems are based on country classifications and -therefore can differ.
What do pilgrims cater for?
Passports and Visas, travel insurance for air, excess baggage, telephone calls, credit or debit card processing fees. However, pilgrims from Uganda can be assisted on Passport and Visa Processing at their cost.
Edical Condition
We strive to provide the highest level of service to all our pilgrims. Participants who require special assistance must be accompanied by a qualified helper who assumes total responsibility for the pilgrim’s well-being.
Liabilities
St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community expressly disclaims any liability for any personal injury, property damage, loss of baggage, accident, delay or irregularity, any claim for special or consequential damages or any other loss which maybe occasioned by the acts and/or omissions, whether negligent, intentional, wrongful or otherwise, of any air carrier, hotel/motel or other lodging operator, railroad operator, bus operator, public transportation, sea carrier, local sightseeing company, tour leader or spiritual director, any employees thereof, or any other entity or individual not under the direct supervision and control of St Magdalen’s Pilgrimage Community when engaged in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangements of the pilgrimage, otherwise in connection there with.
Pilgrimage Alterations
St Magdalen’s Pilgrimages takes note that changes are anticipated, there may be unforeseen occasions when certain alterations become necessary, either due to changes to the airline schedule or any other reason. All Masses are subject to local church schedules and substitution with alternate Mass sites if churches mentioned are not available. St Magdalen’s Pilgrimages reserves the right to change the itinerary due to such unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. These changes will not be considered a material breach of this Agreement.
